El día de hoy, 27 de septiembre, la agrupación británica de power metal DragonForce ha publicado Extreme Power Metal, su octavo álbum de estudio que cuenta con 10 pistas entre las que se encuentran los sencillos “Highway to Oblivion”, “Heart Demolition” y “Razorblade Meltdown”. Los seguidores de esta banda podrán escuchar esta nueva producción más abajo en la entrada, pero primero repasaremos rápidamente su trayectoria.
DragonForce se formó en 1999 y actualmente se conforma de Herman Li, Sam Totman, Marc Hudson y Gee Anzalone. Se le conoce por sus rápidos solos de guitarra, sonidos electrónicos influenciados por videojuegos retro y letras con temáticas de fantasía.
El primer disco de estudio del grupo se lanzaría en el 2003 con el título Valley of the Damned. Al siguiente año publicaron la segunda producción discográfica Sonic Firestorm.
En los primeros días del 2006 se estrenaría el tercer álbum, Inhuman Rampage, con el que se dieron a conocer un poco más gracias a obtener la posición número uno en la lista Billboard Heatseekers y también a la canción “Through the Fire and Flames” que fue seleccionable en el juego de video Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
En el 2008 debutó Ultra Beatdown. A éste le siguieron tres álbumes más (sin contar el más reciente): The Power Within (2012), Maximum Overload (2014) y Reaching into Infinity (2017).
