Eminem – Discografía (1996-2020)

El día de hoy Marshall Bruce Mathers III, mejor conocido por su nombre artístico, Eminem, lanzó sorpresivamente un nuevo álbum de estudio (el décimo) titulado Kamikaze. Este nuevo disco, producido por el rapero y Dr. Dre, cuenta con 13 canciones y colaboraciones de Joyner Lucas, Royce da 5’9″ y Jessie Reyez. La última pista es un tema original que será parte de la banda sonora de la película Venom.

Para los fans de Eminem, en esta entrada podrán escuchar esta nueva producción (así como también los primeros nueve álbumes), pero primero recordemos un poco de su trayectoria.

Eminem comenzó a rapear a la edad de 14 bajo el nombre de “M&M”, título que evolucionó a su actual alias. Después de pertenecer a varios grupos de rap, publicó su primer disco de estudio, llamado Infinite, en 1996. Desafortunadamente, fue un fracaso comercial, pero con su segunda producción, The Slim Shady LP (1999), el rapero recibió éxito en las ventas así como en las críticas, logrando llegar al segundo lugar del Billboard 200 estadounidense y posicionándolo como un cantante célebre.

En el 2000 se estrenó The Marshall Mathers LP, vendiendo cerca de dos millones de copias en Estados Unidos en su primera semana. Ganó el Premio Grammy al Mejor Álbum de Rap y fue nominado al Mejor Álbum del Año. El cuarto disco se liberaría en el 2002, llevando el título de The Eminem Show. Este proyecto fue también un éxito total, obteniendo el primer lugar de ventas en casi 20 países (en Estados Unidos fue el disco más vendido del año). También ese mismo año el rapero protagonizó la película de 8 Mile: Calle de ilusiones, cinta que le hizo ganar un Premio Óscar a la Mejor Canción Original por la canción “Lose Yourself”.

A finales del 2004 se lanzó Encore, el quinto álbum de estudio, otro hit comercial. Tuvieron que pasar cinco años para que en el 2009 Eminem debutara su sexto disco, Relapse, el cual fue muy bien recibido por sus seguidores. El álbum Recovery (2010) ganó premios y numerosas nominaciones en diferentes certámenes.

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 salió a la venta a finales del 2013. Desde luego, éste es secuela de su disco del 2000. Con esta producción ganó una vez más el Premio Grammy al Mejor Disco de Rap. El noveno álbum, Revival, se estrenó hace menos de un año (el 15 de diciembre), llegando a la posición número uno de las listas de ventas en varios países.
